Hello Everyone!!
I am still getting used to using the SG site and I figured I'd make an attempt at my first blog homework.
I picked my first topic to be about quarantine activities because lets be honest here, quarantine is a hot topic. I am very luckily to say that my personal life and schedule really hasn't changed very much. I work at an auto shop Monday-Thursday and mechanics are considered "essential employees." I am so glad that I was not affected when it came to my main source of income, however, my heart goes out to those that are! Hang in there everyone! My travels to and from work have been really nice and relaxing considering I live in the largest city in NC, Charlotte, and it is extremely populated. 8 am and 5pm traffic are no joke, so needless to say, I've been highly enjoying a traffic free commute almost everywhere I go.
I normally intern at an auto body shop every Friday, however, someone up there started to feel sick and then another and another. I believe, because they kept working despite not feeling well, they continued to infect each other. This resulting in me staying away the last few weeks. It is not worth the risk despite how much I miss learning.
My weekends, have been a bit different. I really, really, reallyyyy miss being able to go out. It's odd because I tend to be a bit of a homebody anyways with the occasional dinner date or a late night hanging with some friends. As soon as we were all told we couldn't go out, I wanted to go out way more then I did before. I guess I don't like the idea of being told I can't do something. Grabbing food to-go, shopping solely online and watching movies at home just aren't the same as having the freedom to dine-in, go into a physical store to shop and being able to go see a movie right when it comes out.
Thankfully there is a nature preserve/greenway trail righttt across from my house so getting fresh air has been extremely easy. They did close down parks and preserves in NC but they did not close any private neighborhood entrances so yay for me!! I also drive a Honda s2000, a 2 seater convertible, and it is finally warm enough for "top down season" which is one of my favorite feelings. The "wind in your hair feel" feels even better lately were it's easy to feel cramped up and stuffy in your home, it's almost a freeing feeling.
I hope everyone else is going well despite what seems like never ending chaos. Hopefully this will be over soon and life will return to normal. Thank you to those who took time to read my first full blog!
Until next time,
Baby Rae
