friday. noon o clock.
(the muffs - my crazy afternoon.)
so, i finally broke down and went to the health department yesterday. after two days of barely being able to stand up at work, i decided cranberry juice and azo was not cutting it. christopher had to drive me to the health dept. we waited there for days. i finally got in for my urinalysis. when i peed in the cup i was nearly too embarrassed to put it in the window. it was very dark brownish red.
after that, i had to wait some more. i then got my bp checked and they did a height and weight. while the nurse was doing this, she commented to me that "that was the worst urine she's ever seen." she wanted to know how long i had not been feeling well. i had to sheepishly tell her it was a little over a week.
i guess i had finally paid my dues in waiting, cos i finally got to go into the "little room." did the whole medical history thing. got the most uncomfortable pap of my life. then she went to spin the urine. she came back and said that she couldn't even run the test, because there was no urine, it was just blood. eegads. so, she had to send me to the emergency room, just what i wanted, more waiting.
christopher actually took me to regional first care. i didn't have to wait that long. i had to pee in a cup for the third time, but i finally got some results. white blood cells, red blood cells, and lots o bacteria. hooray. the doc gave me samples of antibiotics. i guess he realized i was poor by my lack of insurance. i had to pay twenty dollars for some pain meds. oh well. i just want to get better. all in all i spent one hundred and fifty dollars and seven hours in waiting. i don't know what i'd do without truly good friends like christopher being there to cart my sickass around.
