Boo. Last day of vacation already. As I knew it would, it passed by quickly.
We were at Eagle Lake for a week, and got back to Portland on Friday. It was beautiful over there, never too hot, but dry as a motherfucker. It's desert, so this isn't surprising, but my skin was not pleased by the end. The lake itself was wonderful for swimming, and our neighbor even took us on a boat ride to see the south end, which I hadn't seen since I was a kid, and EnergyChannel had never seen at all. Lots of quality time with my family, and despite my daily slathering of SPF 55 sunblock, even a little bit of color on my skin. I wouldn't call it a tan, just less white than usual.
It's been lovely being home again. We came home to a minor flea problem and Harold yowling and refusing to come in the house. Once we realized why, it was off to procure some Advantage and mothballs for the vacuum cleaner. Now, the problem appears to be over, and Harold is happily hanging out in the bathroom. Baby steps towards the living room. He's the only cat I've ever known who voluntarily stays out of the house when he has fleas. That's pretty cool.
Today brings a quick work-related thing for EnergyChannel, as he must go help the guy who owns Mississippi Records with a tech problem. We'll get some music out of the deal, as we figure the dude probably isn't exactly rolling in dough.
The foot is all better, so I get to return to the gym this week. Yay!
