We've reached the end of Dadstravaganza 2007. It was a great weekend. The weather was perfect, allowing us to do the touristy thing on Saturday and hit Washington Park, visiting the Japanese Gardens and the Rose Gardens. I believe that we may have been the only English-speaking folks who decided to do that, as all around us we heard snatches of different languages. Japanese, Chinese, German, I think I even caught a bit of French. Very multicultural experience. Plus, the city views were awesome.
Sunday was our commerce day, journeying south to the outlet mall in Woodburn, where miles were walked and money was spent. I was very pleased to find the last pair of Sauconys at a store, marked down from $50 to a whopping $10, and in my size! I think it was fate. At the very least, it was awesome. I'm a sucker for a good bargain.
We then took our tired feet to the Portland City Grill for happy hour. We got there right at the beginning, snagged a table by the window, and just sat sipping drinks and looking out over the city. We had some delicious food, and got pleasantly toasted. Then, since their happy hour fare is delicious but small, we went and had dinner at one of our local pubs. Mmmm, gigantic turkey club sandwich. I'm still full from it.
It was a fantastic weekend, and now I'm tired, a bit sunburned, and not looking forward to work. It's okay, though, since we get a day off midweek. I'll actually be able to sleep in! Exciting.
But first, we are off to see the Minders tonight at the White Eagle. Should be fun. And as one of my little created sentences says up there next to my picture, I like having as much fun as possible. I really should personalize that damned thing one of these days.
Off to work!
