The Calexico show was phenomenal, as usual. Eric Bachman opened, and while his musical stylings were a bit on the sleep-inducing end of things, his music was beautiful and delicate and emotional, but not at all in a pussy way. Joey and co. have brought the legendary Salvador Duran on tour with them, and he is absolutely amazing. My Spanish comprehension has gone the way of the buffalo, but it didn't diminish my enjoyment of the show at all. They played a lot of stuff off the new album, and while it translates differently live, it translates well.
The next big show to get all excited about is the Lilys, the High Violets, and Human Television on July 6. Now that's going to be a great one.
No clever way to end this entry. I suppose that's why God invented the smiley.
