Alright, it's a new year, and hopefully this will be the year I start taking care of business, well, kind of.
The school thing is pretty largely on hold for now until I find out if I got into any other colleges. One way or another though, I'm moving on to a university come September.
I've been on a pretty okay diet for the past month and a half or so, and I figure with the new year I'll try to kick it up a bit. Nothing too intense, I wanna be able to actually do it.
I've gone back into pretty intensely practicing and learning magic. I've thought about getting back into it for a long time now, but recently I've actually started. I guess if I had to choose one thing that's really had an actual positive impact for me it was becoming a performing magi. I know it sounds nerdy as hell, but I mean, when you have to perform, you have to learn how to speak to people, and be comfortable in front of a crowd, and just people skills in general. So, nerdy as it is, I've come back to that.
Obviously my love of film continues on, and I think this year is going to be a lot of finding some sort of identity about how I watch movies. More and more towards the end of 2010, I found myself looking less and less at the story of a movie, and more on the other aspects. Creating a collective whole as opposed to biasing something because I disagreed with the story. I'm also continuing to expand my knowledge by spending more time watching things other than pictures made here in the States, I'm slowly spending more and more time with cinema from different countries and finding out what they have to offer, and often, it's a lot more than we're getting in the states.
I have sent out several more applications for a job. I have been in a state of paralysis since I quit my last job, and while I half heartedly tried to get another one, the truth was I just didn't want one yet. I'm still at a place in my life where a job isn't necessary, so I basically decided to spend the last several months focusing on being a student, and now with the new year, it's time I got serious about a job. Hopefully at a place that I actually kind of dig ya know?
