I find this really beautiful.
The Invitation
Oriah Mountain Dreamer, Indian Elder
It doesnt interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for,
And if you dare to dream of meeting your hearts longing.
It doesnt interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love,
for your dreams, for the adventure of being alive.
It doesnt interest me what planets are squaring your moon.
I dont want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow,
If you have been opened by lifes betrayals or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain!
I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or you own,
if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, be realistic, or to remember the limitations of being human.
It doesnt interest me if the story you are telling me is true,
I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself,
if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul.
I want to know if you can be faithful and trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see beauty,
even when it is not pretty every day,
and if you can source your life from Gods presence.
I want to know if you can live with lifes failure, yours or mine,
and still stand on the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon,
yes!
It doesnt matter me to know where you live or how much money you have,
I want to know if you can get up after the night of grief and despair,
weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done for the children.
It doesnt interest me who you are, how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will still stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.
It doesnt interest me where or what or with whom you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone with yourself,
and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.

I had a crazy weekend. I ended up getting home at 2 on Sunday afternoon after a few friends and I got a bit carried away, I really need to calm the fuck down.
When I get back from my holiday I will start working less on weekends and hopefully I will find a bit of balance. I was supposed to write 2 marketing essays yesterday but I couldn't sleep or concentrate for that matter so I didn't. Needless to say I am really pissed at myself for sabotaging my efforts to study. Luckily for me I have an automatic 2 day extension so I can write the damn things tonight.
At work they swapped my PC for a crappy 10 year old pentium 2. It is really slow and frustrating to work on, the new account exec on SHOP! Mag got my old one which is much faster, she is more important , I feel like the equivalent of pond sludge in terms of the organogram of my department. I guess this will just keep me more focussed on getting out of here.
Must actually do some work now, bye
