A kitten adopted me a couple of weeks ago... After a greasetastic hangover brunch, I decided to visit an adoption fair that was happening just outside of town, 5 minutes before it closed down. I adore all animals. I was going to be a vet up until the time I volunteered at an animal hospital, when I then realized that the job would make me really sad. The tipping point came on the day that the cutest little lapdog got checked in for a chemotherapy session. So, I decided to just stick to mothering animals, and now I have 3 cats in a smallish condo.
Enter Ella... I was walking by a stack of crates, when these cute little paws suddenly reached out and grabbed my leg. Looking down, I saw the cutest little tabby kitten in the world. I bent down to say hello, and after I made my acquaintance, I walked off to check out the rest of the place.
<off-topic, kinda sorta>
I learned something new--iguanas are not good pets. They start out as cute little green lizards, but they keep growing--and growing--and GROWING until they're doggy-sized.

After perusing around for awhile I walked past that same stack of kitty crates, and I got grabbed again! I wasn't planning on getting another kitty anytime soon, but that was way too adorable to ignore. Plus, my sadly departed cat, Phil, had pulled the same act all those years ago at the SPCA, and he turned out to be one of the best friends I've ever had.
The papers got filled out, I updated my other kitties' vaccinations, and got to bring her home about a week later.
You've got to realize that I always adopted adult cats in the past. My friends warned me about "kitten behavior," but I was convinced that this was basically the Christ child in kitten form. "She's sooo sweet!" Uhhh... Fast-forward, like, a day and a half later, and I'm EATING my words. This cat is no longer "Ella," but "Cruella."
I woke up to a crunching sound, which translates to a shredded pile of beheaded roses--I guess they said something to her--and Ella going totally bonkers. I have never, in my life, EVER seen a cat move that fast. The other two are slow-moving, large, and very orange.
Anyway, to make a longer story shorter, check out what she's gotten into now... I have to admit, Ella is pretty crafty.
That would be my box spring, and she likes to chill out in there. Chill out by scratching around and banging around during "sleeping hours."
Anyhoos, it's time for me to *try* to get some sleep. I'll talk to you guys some more later!
xoxo
