Let me know what you think!

*hug* Well said and very brave of you to share that to a much wider audience. The cost of living in Toronto is one of the things that's kept me from moving there so I can only imagine how it is for you. I'm curious, what meal replacement shakes do you use? Would whey protein powder work or are there nutrients in the shakes not in the powder?
azurarose:
@gargoyle23 I use both the PC brand ones and Ensure. Whey protein is essentially just protein and a bit of calcium and sodium. The meal replacement shakes contain all the essential nutrients we need. Basically 3-6 a day and you've got everything you need barring calories, they're just expensive. It's about $2-3 per bottle, though protein powder isn't any cheaper given you have to buy something to mix it with and it's also expensive.

I'm also very concerned as to how they determine these things. This always negatively affects women of colour and queer/trans women the most.

Yeah, nevermind that it's 2016 and things are different, that the public you'll be interacting with is used to facial piercings and non-natural hair colours. I get the need to look professional at work, but unless you're dealing with high level business clients it should be your attitude that matters and not little nit-picks about your appearance.
