"We live each day likes it Friday Night!" - Meet At Sundown.
Yea, I keep bringing them up. sorry if it sounds like shameless promotion...but in PA...god...they are the only local band in Central PA that doesn't sound like August Burns Red.
Those guys are truly great pals of mine. The drummer, Mark and have known each other for 13 years. When you think of that longevity...wow....it sends euphoric memories and smiles about having such a good friend for so long. We both used to work at a Sheetz making sandwiches for dumb high school cheerleaders...fat, angry truck drivers.....and the occasional hot soccer mom with the chest piece that begged to be shown. We listened to a lot of Danzig and Iron Maiden back in those days.
So, yes it's Friday Night here in Harrisburg....2nd Street is full of young bodies floating around to various bars for cheap liquor and cheap thrills. At the moment of me writing this blog, outside my window...a bride with her friends are taking drunken photos with each other before the end the night. It's fun as I peer out my window and see these happy moments...and one street over from them, drunk debauchery of barely legal kids are spending there nights money away until the wallet is empty or the girl is drunk.
Me? I am sitting in my apartment, frustrated, listening to Tool. I could go out and join the fun on 2nd street, but it's infinitely more comforting for me to stay home and not be reminded of the stark differences between myself and a carefree, self serving crowd of children.
I am bitter much? It could because the earlier encounter I had with someone tonight that took me for surprise on just how cold a person can be. So yea, I am a little bitter.
I can see the couple embrace as spontaneously they just started shooting off fireworks at City Island.
Lovely...
Turning Tool up....
Highlights of the Day
Band/Song - She Wants Revenge/Take the World
Article of the Day - Apple and Amazon patch security flaws exposed by hack heard round the world
Quote - "I have not been a success, and probably never will be." - Robert Howard
This seems appropriate for tonight
