Vienna rocked again.
Mr. Thomas Rainer and his girlfriend Alex, which is also the owner of Club [Pi], are simply the best hosts ever.
As soon as I arrived, I just had the time to get my luggage back from the conveyor belt and we were already in the car driving to the temple of Japanese food, Kushimbo... where we got dishes I've never saw in any other Jap restaurant I've been, with fresh elements imported directly every day: I think I will remember the taste of the Okonomiyaki for a looong time
After the meal was consumed, we realised it was still a bit to early to go to the club and get ready for the night, so we reached a neat cocktail bar just down the street where we were joined also by Massimo, aka DJ Gargoyle, an old friend of mine from Rome who now lives in Vienna to work for an architect firm: a nice surprise, the man is always great to have around when you're ready to switch to party mode.
Club [Pi] is an amazing place: two floors, the first one being the bar while the second is the dancefloor proper.
Good acoustics, a fucking cool dj deck with the new Pioneer CDJ-200, and lots of light controllers to play with.
Due to the extreme hot weather plaguing Europe this summer, and due to the fact some people were already out of town for the summer holidays, not too many people attended... but those who were there [circa 70-80 people] danced their asses off to my selections till 6 am in the morning.
The next day was spent recovering, as usual, and then going for a "all-you-can-eat" asian buffet right before taking the flight back to Rome... which, as usual, Alitalia delayed for the usual 2 hours.
Plans are already in the making to make my presence in Vienna a regular event...
