Okay. So we leave for KS on the 25th, we'll be back on the 28th, i think. Lots to do during our short stay.
There;s like a 70% chance that they're giving Will a job, so I've been busy trying to internet shop for houses. I've found a couple, and thankfully, the state appears to offer a downpayment assistance program, so hopefully that obsticle is overcome.
Will is freaking out about moving everyone. He doesn't want to take all the dogs (read, Molly, Dot and Roger). But it's not an option. They go or I stay. They may need to stay here for a little while, until I can get the house set up for running two stud dogs and an aggressive bitch, but in the end, everyone is coming home.
Looks like showing is going to come to a slow or end. Kansas is not a good area for either AKC or UKC shows, and the nearest will be 3-5 hours away. Finn may sit 3 point from Grand for the next ever.
I have these visions of a little farm, with enough livestock to feed us and the dogs, in a dusty wind-blown plain. barefoot, surrounded by dogs and ducklings. Don't ask why ducklings, but they're there.
Aside from the fact that the state of Kansas has ruined my dream of a Blackberry, and Will's dream of a 3G iPhone, (AT&T apparently has NO towers out there) Garden City, at least from the distance of the interweb, is not as backwards, backwoods, and podunk as it seems it might be. There's a community college, even if it will only get me my associates degree, a zoo (which makes me extremely happy), a movie theater, and a buffalo refuge. So long as I can get my dog and cat food, I can this make work.
If we do move, it will be in the next month or so, since new teacher orientation is August 8th. We'll need to be settled in by then. My account expires on July 22nd, so I will probably go grey until after the move.
