i'm still on hiatus from SG, but i thought i'd drop in for a quick update.

mol and i are going to sarasota for 2 weeks to see my parents and hopefully not experience any hurricanes; we made it through "andrew" while we lived in miami, so why try to top that fun?

my boss' cancer is getting worse rather than better. when we return from florida, i'm taking a leave so i can help him and his wife every day, rather 1 or 2 times a week.

it is absolutely shocking to see this vital, larger-than-life therapist and harley enthusiast losing his will to live.

but hey, a while back he saved my life, so i owe this guy big time.

on the brighter side of life, a week from today (june 24) i will have 2 years of sobriety after 30 years of addiction. woot!

Just wanted to let you know I used you as inspiration. My GF has been battling alcoholism and has been in and out of treatment facilities. Well, she's found a new leasse as it were. She was 30 days clean and fell, we had a long hard talk, and now she's 15 days clean and in a sober living house. She's taking a lot of hard steps and getting ahead with things and has gotten herself a sponsor as well. SO, things are hopefully going to be okay.

When things were hard and she felt she couldn't do it, I showed her your profile and some of the journals. She cried a bit and we talked some more. She really thinks she can do it. A big change from before, let me tell you.
