Whew! These holidays are crazy this year! I hope everyone has had a great Christmas/Chanukah/Kwanzaa or whatever it is that makes this time of year speacial for you... Personally, I'm agnostic, but with a Christian family background so I celebrate Christmas as time to spend with family, sharing great meals and gifts with each other. This year has been pretty nice. True, I did some running around like a chicken with my head cut off, but generally speaking I got all my ducks in a row just in time for my recent photo shoot and video, then Christmas Eve gathering on one side of the family, Christmas day with my parents, and the day after Christmas shopping for some nice deals at the mall, then celebrating all over again with another side of the family. I swear I've probably gained 10 lbs. just in holiday eating, but I certainly don't regret it!
My roommate Paul got me a really pretty photo album, so I'm going to start up a photography portfolio. Oh, I totally forgot to mention - the coolest thing happened to me on Monday. Backstory: my cousin Zoe (who's 7.5 months pregnant) and her daughter had asked me to do a nice Christmas picture of them, and Zoe also wanted to do a couple formal, classy, but fun 'pregnant' pictures... one for family, and one a little more risque to frame in 8x10 for her boyfriend for Christmas. We FINALLY found a time that worked out, although it was getting down to crunchtime being just 2 days before Christmas. But, we did some shooting and ended up with a couple really amazing Christmas shots of her with her daughter, daughter solo, and a few artsy-fartsy prego shots that were really just stunning, I was so proud of them! Anyway, I spent most of the night editing them after the gals left, then sent them to Walgreens for developing via the net like I always do (they print them and have them ready next-day). The next afternoon when I rolled out of bed, I had a voicemail on my phone from Walgreens. Apparently, my photos looked so professional, they the manager halted the printing because he thought I was trying to copyright-infringe on a photography studio's portraits. I had to physically take my camera and memory stick to Walgreens to prove that I had taken the photos myself, and even sign some copyright literature to prove I was the owner of the photos... it was pretty crazy, and although it was a pain in the butt to have to go up in there for all that, I couldn't help feeling happy because it really was kind of a backhanded compliment. The experience pretty much made my day!
Oooo, and Will and I decided on awesome Christmas presents to each other... we bought tickets for an upcoming Marilyn Manson show in February! We're meeting the lovely Miss Ginger Jane of GingerBBW.com for the show... it's going to be so fucking sweet!
