what's the rowdiest sporting event to take pictures of? believe it or not, a women's technical college basketball game. I guess these girls must not have anything to lose, cuz boy oh boy were they ever playing DIRTY. I mean prison rape scene dirty. there were so many fouls I think the guy presseing the buzzer must have a callous. At one point one girl slapped the ball away from a player making a basket, and it smacked the ref in the head! I was DYING as I saw his whistle fly up in the air as his head wobbled back and forth. the crowd of five roared. it was hi-lar-i-ous
What else? my car is so pathetic it made the Shepard Express' piece of shit car of the week last week. I had a photo in there and everything, although I wish the paper would have picked the shot of me climbing out of the busted back window. The muffler no longer works, it accelerates VERY slowly, the horn sticks and continues to honk for at least a minute when you press it, and it's uglier than sin. But of course I bought the club for it- no one is stealing my piece of shit! nobody!
otherwise I have so been underground. I haven't been out cuz I have no cash, but that's okay- I can feel my period of hibernation winding down. Just give me a week or two and I will be my usual fire starting, rug cutting, trouble making self again. The key is balance. Balance.......
....the mural will have to be worked on. perhaps I could have a mural party, but I'm afraid of being distracted. I guess I'll have to grab a bottle of wine and a paintbrush and go to town. Why am I procrastinating about something I enjoy so much?
one other cool thing: I went to this photographers' convention last Saturday at the art museum, and there was this sports shooter there who covers the olympics and such (I love the olympics) He had some of the sweetest shots I had ever seen, and inspired me to step up my game. I emailed him to thank him for his appearance and such, and this guy took the time to call me from new york to thank me for the compliment. In a business full of pretentious assholes, this guy is a class act all the way. I am impressed.
oh, his name is Al Bello. he has a website- if you like photography at all, check it out. his work is very creative.
coming soon: a folder of my latest and greatest sports shots. talk to you all soon!!
