So the Kenosha art fair was a lot of fun. I sold 2 pieces, and traded one for this really cool print. artman and needie were charming as usual, and I hung out with more super cool sg peeps as well. This was my first outdoor show; I need to invest in a tent but the weather weather was bee-yoo-tee-ful for Wisconsin falltime- it still feels like summer and believe you me, I am tenaciously clinging to this unseasonably warm streak as long as possible.
Had my first day at my new job. I think I am going to like it there a lot; although the workload is INSANE. I hope I don't lose my head especialy considering the equipment is much much less than what I was used to at the smaller newspaper. Basically, I need to make more pictures, faster, with lousier equipment. But the staff is young, friendly, and energetic, and the other shooter and I get along like peas and carrots. I don't know what it is about shooters, but we all have this weird chill-yet-hardassed dichotomy going on. After I was done for the day, Kevin (the other photographer) and I went out for vegetarian burritos and drank Mexican beer and tequilla. Hellz yeah!
I'm also wrapping up my gallery Night stuff. In post production now, just assembling frames and printing pictures. I pulled 5 shots from 1 roll, but I'm pretty confident that they are all strong enough to hold their own, despite my not shooting that much for it. 2 of them will be scanned and cleaned up; I'll post some as soon as I can for a sneak peek.
Ah, what else? I went wake boarding on Random Lake earlier this week with my good friend Jason who is moving to Austin and will be sorely missed.
I stood on the board on, like, the second try which I'm told is pretty impressive considering I'm standing on a board strapped to my feet being pulled by a power boat. I guess some pictures of me with a seriously determined look on my face are making the rounds in one of my social circles; that should be good for a laugh. It really is SO funny to watch everyone wipe out- half of the fun is watching people trying to pull off tricks and smacking into the water.
Well, I'm out like a boner in a pair of sweatpants- gonna squeeze in a quick run before coffee with some friends. Rock on, sg world!
