Woo Hoo I went out last night to three and got my dance on with about a dozen or so friends. I love three. I love it so much. The vibe is cool, the people are cool, the music is cool, and I really love the photography they put up...(hahaha shameless self promotion)
Not only do I know most of the cats that hang out at three, but the owners are forever stuffing me with free drinks and shots. So awesome.
Afterward came karaoke at the HiHat garage. I didn't sing, despite being happy drunk; mostly cuz I sound like a gopher stuck in a lawnmower whenever I "sing" But watching and laughing at others is always a gas, especially when you can heckle your freinds to the point where they're laughing too hard to sing anymore.
Afterbar at my adorable friend Emily's and James kloibers' house. The 5 remaining warriors partook in some sweet, minty "tobacco" and fought each other for spoonfuls of peanut butter. It doesn't get much better. Ah, the tomfoolery. I love it.
Oh, more cool new photo news......there is a 4x year publication called info magazine here in the Mil. It's a very stylish and hip little magazine about where to go what to do and who or what is hot each season. I have been asked to be the next featured photographer, for the fall issue. Yay! My friend Mando will be the featured artist, so we're both on top of the world right now. Oh, and I guess some Symphony board members went to my gallery show, and I've been asked to be in a photographers' forum/ discussion group, just because of the strength of the work these people saw. Even though this show cost me an arm and a leg and I didn't get my investment back, boy it sure is nice to be: 1- recognized and respected for my skills in this city, and 2- having so many doors open up for me. Oh, and let's not forget 3- free drinks sometimes at three! I feel special!
I think I am going to lay low this weekend and save some cash. Any fun will have to be the ghetto- style/ home grown/ DIY kind of fun, like sitting on my porch, drinking tequilla and lighting off bottle rockets. Hell, everyone else in my neighborhood does it. You would think it was the 4th of July every day around here. Or maybe aura and I should hook up some smashy smashy time. My broken tv and a razorwire covered bat awaits the oncoming destruction.....

And I'd be into seeing you dance (and sing!) myself. I bet you really cut a rug!
