Seriously.
Before I made the decision to move back to Calgary, the Universe made it exceedingly uncomfortable for me in Edmonton. In the rundown,
- my cat died
- my car broke down
- my car cost $450 to fix
- my car got stolen 2 days after the fix
- my recovered car was trashed and needed some $1k in body repairs
- the Oilers made the playoffs, thus depriving me of sleep
When we start on a path we're supposed to be on, the Universe makes it easy. Some call it beginners luck. It's to encourage you. Or so I understand from the allegory of The Alchemist.
I move here, I get a fantastic job whose philosophy is beyond awesome and who isn't evil. At the same time, my old business site is down. Again. It was down for a week last month and now apparently there's something about a faulty drive controller and failed backups.
I don't believe in coincidence. Then again, I don't believe in free will. I believe we each have a path to walk. When we do, we are rewarded with the fruits of our labour, we are happy and we are fulfilled. And when we don't, the universe kicks us in the ass.
Alright Universe, I'm listening.
Also: go vote for my idea. It's really really good.
