I'm moving back to Calgary in July.

Whoda thunk?

You people are too nice. I've lied for less, and I've gotten people in trouble for free, just because I was feeling bitchy. Maybe I'm just one cold cold mo'fo.

Here's a multiple choice. If you say "none of the above" you will have delegitimated all things you say to me in the future. You clearly have no need for money.

For 10 million dollars, which would you do?
a) Sacrifice a 13 year old virgin, given that nobody will ever know about it
b) Strangle your closest relative to within inches of their life and render them comatose for days after and not be able to explain to them why
c) Actually kidnap a seven-year-old child for one week then release him/her with the total security of knowing you'll never get caught

Holy shit, man. That question was fucked up! I'm not appalled or anything, more like thought-ridden. It really gets a person thinking when they read that (and don't reject it outright). 10 million dollars is so huge (I think the biggest california state lottery winner won 20 million) that when one seriously considers the weight of all that cash.. the mind begins to be willing to make compromises with its ethical bits.

I'm assuming that the requirements meant you had no choice as to the victim, I might choose b, since Filipino families are generally close and I can always feint that I was on PCP at the time (remember, the option didn't say that you could substitute a lie for the real truth behind "why").

I hope moving back is a move you're choosing to make. If it is, congratulations.

I have a question about Alberta though: have you been to Banff? I'm thinking of making a roadtrip up there at the end of this coming summer. Do you have any recommendations at all for places to visit, places to stay, etc.?

I read a short story about a boy who got kidnapped for two weeks. The guy was creepy and mean, but at the same time not abusive. At the end, he basically tells the kid "I thought you were the one, but you're not. I'm taking you home." Maybe he got paid $10 million?
