i saw the break up tonight. and i have to say the only reason why the movie was good was vince vaughn. they should just give that man a camera and let him do whatever he wants. as far as jennifer aniston was concerned, i spent most of my time checking her out. she is just too damn pretty. not angelina pretty, but girl next store pretty, and i swear i'd kill for her body. sometimes i think that's why i like the female form so much. maybe i'm just envious. either way, she was pretty hot.
the movie itself raised a lot of interesting questions about relationships, which of course erupted in a heated discussion on the way home. however, the reason why i did not like this movie, is that it is a romantic comedy, and hence, the main characters will go through the motions of breaking up, but then will eventually get back together **spoiler coming here, so if you want to see this movie, don't read anymore**
they don't. they break up, they sell the condo, the movie ends. basically, she breaks up with him as a ploy to just make him see what he's missing. then she spends the rest of the movie trying to get back with him. then the story just DIES. at the climax of the movie, everything is going so well, and it's like they brought in the second string of writers to finish it, and it just sailed right down the toliet. i mean one scene she is crying her eyes out for him, and the next scene he realizes how much he loves her, cooks her a beautiful meal, and apologizes for all he's ever done to her (and vince is such a good actor, i kind of got teary) and she says "i don't feel the same way" WTF??? um hello, the last hour and a half i watched you do everything and anything to get him, up to and including getting cliched bikini wax, and NOW you don't feel the same way.
then they tried to tie it up in a nice little package in the last scene where they meet like a year later on the street. all it did was display very bad writing and it was obvious that these two were acting....then they say they should get together soon, and bam credits are rolling. so yeah i was pretty much disappointed. not to mention it kept me out until about 2am when i have to get up for work tomorrow, well today.
at least there was an interesting aray of supporting characters that added to vince's brillance. well that's all for now, i'm falling asleep and i have to get up in like 3 hours. night all
