Merriam-Webster defines vacation in the following ways:
1 : a respite or a time of respite from something : INTERMISSION
2 a : a scheduled period during which activity (as of a court or school) is suspended b : a period of exemption from work granted to an employee for rest and relaxation
3 : a period spent away from home or business in travel or recreation
I feel as though everyone reading has a competent understanding of the word, as do I, so I'm going to ask the following:
If one is going to take a "vacation" with a person who will, inevitably, make said vacation rather stressful, does one decide to tell the other person that they are no longer welcome?
Is it still a vacation if you have to grade papers and write lesson plans?
Is it appropriate to uninvite someone to Thankstaking?
Any answers or thoughts on the following would be appreciated.
