As I type this, my band Apiary are kixin it with Ryan Bentley from Ironclad Recordings at his house drinkin 40's of Schlitz Bull Ice and Werewolf Killers. Tonight started rough and resulted in the beginning of a sweet tour.
For the last week leading up to the start of the Two Dollar Brawler Tour we had been having van trouble. It kept overheating, resulting in a blown head gasket. By the time we got it out of the shop in Rhode Island we were more than running late for the show roughly 120 miles away in New Hampshire.
We reached the show as Ligeia, the headlining band of this tour, was setting up. They tore the place a new asshole. Crazy light show and mad energy with tight musicianship to boot. If you haven't heard of them go to http://www.myspace.com/ligeia NOW.
We were the last on the bill tonight, but were well recieved by a still hungry mob of rabid New Hampshire metalheads with flashing cameras and sideways caps and angst and beauty. A special shoutout goes to Lisa and Co for driving three hours to come see us. Thank you guys so much. It means the world to us.
After a rushed and hyper set (we hadn't played a show for 3 days, there was a bit of a build-up) we got a chance to become acquainted with our tourmates in the other 3 bands. All I have to say is, it will be in your best interest to check our tour dates for when the Two Dollar Brawler Tour is coming to your town. Come to the shows and kick it with us, party with us (read party with us as whiskey games, ticklefests, naked twister, seven minutes in heaven). I'm having the time of my life, and I have my brothers Makh Daniels, Mike McClatchey, Chris Brock, and Adam Elliott to thank.
Don't miss out on this tour and all the bands that are The Handshake Murders, Burn In Silence, Ligeia, and us, Apiary
See you
