Hey all,
Super sorry that I haven't been active but a lot has gone on over the past few months including finishing my university course after 3 years, so in September I will be graduating with an honers degree in Graphic Design, WOOH. I can definitely say it wasn't as easy as I thought and had a lot of troubles throughout including my immune system letting me down a fair few times - but I did it! And I couldn't be more proud of myself.
Well anyway, I thought I would finally do some blog homework and picked out a few questions so here we go ( @missy & @rambo ):
1/30: What is the geekiest thing about you?
Plain and Simple, I have a degree (I keep telling everyone, just incase you didn't know), not so much Graphic Design makes me geeky but I'm a super nerd about Art, Pattern and Fashion! I did my dissertation on British Vogue throughout history and how society and culture had/has impacted on it - so I know every single thing about Vogue, I have a bookcase full of Vogue Magazines and illustration and pattern books!
Oh and another thing, in relation to design but my SG name is Avenir, if you are unaware as to what this stands for.. well it's actually my favourite typeface.. that's pretty geeky right? I just find it elegant and very contemporary looking!
Well one: starting and then finishing university. But I actually did my first placement throughout May and June at British Vogue, working as a Design assisting in the Art Department, I had my own place in London and working 10-6. Scared of course but not knowing who anyone was and of course being judged from head to toe waiting for the results whether I'm accepted or not. I realised being an adult is tough, I was so tired when I had finished work (although I got to work past selfridges everyday so the Krispy Kreme doughnuts helped a little). But genuinely I felt like this is my life now, university felt completely different and although I was independent I wasn't this independent. I had jobs to do everyday and deadlines to meet all the time, then one day I went out to assist a photoshoot and my goodness I loved it but also thought crap I actually have real life people waiting and depending on me today. It was tough but definitely an experience that has made me learn a lot and grow.
6/2: Do you have any upcoming travel plans? Where are you headed and what will you do there?
