Man, am I a slacker on my @bloghomework ! I'm working on it, I promise...
So, if I could run my own business, what would it be?
Well... Since this is a completely hypothetical situation, I assume I am allowed to include technology that is not yet available to us common folk. That makes sense, right?
If I owned my own business, costs did not chance being prohibitive, and we'll pretend I've already got all the schooling for this hypothetical technology, then I would produce bionic anatomy that functions perfectly like human anatomy and I'd install these bionics and change lives.
How's that for hoping?! :)
I say this for very selfish reasons. I haven't much longer to dance - the one thing I am the very most passionate about. The situation is potentially worse than that, as well. I'd give anything (haha, I almost said "my left leg") to have a body that functions like a normal, healthy human (and I'm considering people like Tiler Peck "normal humans" even though I suspect she may be of a balletic alien race). I talk frequently with my best friend about how incredible it would be to repair all my physical problems so I can have a normal life, and I know I'm not the only person out there like that.
So basically I want I help people like me who don't function in a "normal" fashion because that is what I have to give to the world and it pains me to no be able to give it.
Two of the people whose creativity I most admire have spoken on the subject.
"There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time. This expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium, and be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, not how it compares with other expression. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others."
- Martha Graham
"Our lives are mere flashes of light in an infinitely empty universe. In 12 years of education the most important lesson I have learned is that what we see as "normal" living is truly a travesty of our potential. In a society so governed by superficiality, appearances, and petty economics, dreams are more real than anything in the "real world". Refuse normalcy. Beauty is everywhere, love is endless, and joy bleeds from our everyday existence. Embrace it. I love all of you, all of my friends, family, and community. I am ceaselessly grateful from the bottom of my heart for everyone. The only thing I can ask of you is to stay free of materialism. Remember that every day uncontainable a universe of potential; exhaust it. Live and love so immensely that when death comes there is nothing left for him to take. Wealth is love, music, sports, learning, family, and freedom. Above all, stay gold."

So if I owned my own business, I would want to move clearly and directly, be divinely dissatisfied, be more alive, refuse normalcy, exhaust potential, and stay gold.
That or I'd open a Cinnaholics franchise, because, well, Yummm!!
