Long day for me today.
I left the house at 8:30 for my therapy appointment, but the doctor showed up an hour late, leaving me in the waiting room for an hour before she arrived, thinking her first appointment was at 11:00 (instead of 10:00, which was my scheduled appointment). Her admitted error. No hard feelings, of course, since she's such a sweetie. She asked me to come back at 2:00, so in the interim I went shopping and did other odds and ends.
Shopping yielded the following:
Music: (total spent: $96)
• Ryksopp - The Understanding (digipak version w/ 5-song bonus disc).
• Rachel's (sic) - Selenography.
• Cranes - Particles & Waves (digipak w/ bonus 4-song DVD containing part of a live performance in London -- I downloaded the album last year, but I had to have the DVD).
• Heavenly - Operation Heavenly (I have this album as MP3s, but I wanted a hard copy, especially since Calvin Johnson, founder of K Records and guest vocalist on a few Heavenly tracks, is making an appearance at the local indie record store on November 17 -- I'm bringing said CD to get signed).
• Slowdive - Catch The Breeze (greatest hits type thing; UK import double-CD; I have all the songs on it as MP3s but I wanted a hard copy since most of the songs on the anthology have been out of print since like 1993, and you can't beat CD quality, at least compared to MP3, OGG, or FLAC).
Clothing: (total spent: $100)
• a Shaun of the Dead t-shirt.
• another t-shirt with "OTAKU" printed on the front with its kanji immediately below it.
• a Lip Service button-down black shirt with a lot of mini-straps and zippers.
• a winter coat, my first in years (due to living in the tropical south), what with the drive to the frozen north (Heyworth, Illinois, and a few hours of Chicago on Sunday afternoon) I'm undertaking on Friday.
DVDs: (total spent: $45)
• The L Word season two box set.
Odds and ends::
• a haircut. ($12)
• black hair dye. ($9)
• an eye exam so I could get a pair of prescription shades made, which I will have in my hot lil hands tomorrow after 5:00 (I'm sick of driving long-distance with every car in front of my glaring me into temporary blindness). ($19 for the exam, $230 for the frames and lenses)
• EMDR therapy (next session Thursday next week) (free!)
• a cache of clove cigarettes to bring with me this weekend. ($15)
• vegetarian soba for lunch! ($5)
• gathering ingredients for vegan stir-fry, mostly the tofu and its marinade, to bring with me to the party this weekend. (~$15)
Grand total: about $546. Three cheers for payday!
I'm going to bed pretty soon as I've had a long day. Xanax and beer, here I come.

That's usually the day of rest and relaxation-though a nasty cold has pushed a few extra days of rest on me this week. Hopefuly I'll be feeling better soon, and I can still make it to a couple of Halloween parties.... definately e-mail me: catsuicide@hotmail.com
