Hi guys I hope you're all doing well! I wrote an entry for a competition today, you had to describe the charms you'd have on the bracelet that described your life. It seemed a shame not to share it with you guys and I thought it might help you get to know me a little better so here goes!
First I picked the pearl birthstone charm as I was born in June, it snowed on the day I was born, this also symbolises the incredibly precious relationship with my mum.
Secondly I picked the zebra charm. I am an ehlers danlos sufferer and the zebra is the symbol for this condition. I don't let this rule my life, however, I live with it and it's always going to be a part of me that helped me become who I am. So this is an important one.
I picked the shooting star charm to represent my quest to become a pinup model, it's a journey that is so special to me because I want to show others that although you may look 'normal' on the outside, you can be struggling on the inside.
The robin charm is to symbolise the close relationship I always had with my grandmother before she passed away. When she died there was a robin sat in the tree above her grave, he stayed there throughout the service. Ever since every time I've come across a robin I feel as though she is here with me.
I went for the anchor charm to show my history as an RNLI lifeboat crew member. This was such an amazing part of my life and I'll always be grateful for the chance I received to be part of an institution that works so hard to save the lives of so many. I had to stand down because of my ehlers danlos getting worse, but this will remain in my heart until the day I die.
I chose the four leafed clover charm to represent my Irish heritage, also as a symbol for all of the luck I've come across in my life. I've always been lucky in so many ways. Although I live with chronic pain, I have so many other gifts that make my life worth living every single day. I am so lucky for the experiences I've had in my life and the people around me who support me in so many ways, physically and emotionally. This is a tribute to them.
Lastly the angel charm was a perfect choice. I have had near death experiences due to sepsis and meningitis because I have issues with my immune system. I could have easily passed over but I didn't so I believe there is someone watching over me keeping me alive. This is a charm I'd carry with me always, helping me stay strong and work towards a bright and happy future.
So that's it! I hope you enjoy it! I have short, pink hair now by the way, I wanted to share that with you too!
Don't forget guys my set "little mad sometimes" by @mikewhitephotog is out in 3 weeks 4 days. I can't wait for this one!
Love you all as always, I'm sorry I haven't written as much as I should have I've been in and out of hospital for tests, so I'll be on as much as I can.
A xx
