Today has been great and its only 3:30!! I need to get up at 9:00 more often.
Well, its started out pretty shitty. I mean, I found out something really bad that I need to deal with. I guess I missed the enrollment period for the Fall semester. So now this break from school is turning out to be a year long break. I feel like a total loser. I feel like Im screwing up my life when it was on such an amazing track before. Sonow its time to pull my shit together and find out what plan B is. It really is time to get serious again and start working on building my career.
Other than that hugely significant bad news I dropped by the Improv and chatted it up with one of the awesome office girls. Talked to her about fixing her website for her customized jack-in-the-boxes she makes, and about marketing some of my own craftsy ideas. Then I went to Waldenbooks and used my gift certificate to pick up some manga, I got Megatokyo which turns out to be _awesome_ since its about video games and trying to get into the industry, which is my life, so it makes me laugh out loud sometimes. I also picked up Play magazine to get caught up on the newest games coming out.
I grabbed a lunch at Iguanas and decided to stop by New Skool Tattoo before picking my bike up again. IT WAS GREAT! I found several artists that have the kind of skills I thought would take a whole lot of searching to find. They have an incredible grasp of gesture, anatomy, color, lighting, line quality. They are just amazingly talented. PLUS I was talking to the desk guy and I mentioned to him that I wanted to get something by and old illustrator named Mucha.who 98% of the population has never heard of. Not only did he know who I was talking about, he directed me to the tattoo artist who regularly uses Mucha as reference for concept and artistic techniques! Ive found my guy! So now all I need is to pinpoint exactly what Mucha piece Im getting, and then save up.
Now the plan is to have a cup of coffee, read some manga, and then get to figuring out what Im doing with my life and how Im going to get back on track to reaching my original goals.
P.S. Its a beautiful, sunny day today.
P.S.S. An avocado finally fell out of the damn tree!! Now all I have to do is drool over it for a few days while it finishes ripening on my kitchen counter. The drool, of course, is key in the proper ripening of an avocado.
P.S.S.S. I had the best date ever with Mr. Cole last night. I could try to get into it, but any attempt to describe how much fun we had would cheapen the experience. It was too great for words.
Also, more comedian pics:
me and Freddy Soto. God, I hate this picture of me, but we were both cracking up because I had just licked his cheek.
I love Scot Kennedy. His whole show is based on how he's kind of a Texan jock, and at the end he surprises everyone by saying he's gay. Best compliment you can get is when a gay man says you'd be his girl if he was straight.
