So the day that I decide to download Gmax (a free and dumbed down version of 3D Studio Max) and teach myself basic 3D modeling, Activision decides to discontinue offering their free program. I have to settle with a 30 day trial version of Max instead. Just my luck. Therefore I have 30 days to teach myself some basic skills...so in 30 days expect a rendering of rudimentary model up a pop can or something posted up here.
I'm working on another digital matte painting. The only thing that is not painted (in Photoshop) are the rocks and a few of the bushes.
Went to Santa Cruz this weekend and had clam chowder for the first time. I don't know why I ever decided I wouldn't touch it!
The boyfriend and I had an awesome time, constiting partly of cuddling up with pineapple soda and pizza to watch episodes of Firefly. Good stuff, I'd recommend it.

You know you can get a a free version of Maya as well. Its called PLE (Personal Learning Edition); just download it from the Alias website........pretty much the same as regular version but no hair modeling and there's a watermark over the renderings.
