i saw and took pictures for one of my favorite bands- LOAFASS up in good ole NYC. these guys are just so fucking funny. they chartered a bus from philly and nyc never knew what hit'em. the whole way up there-whew- that bus driver had a smile from ear to ear. we was drinking, smoking and cussing- the best type of fun. when we got there, stumbling out of the bus was around 30 outgoing drunks. i was one of them, chatting it up with numerous strangers and pointing up at the people in the double-decker tour busses ... their confused faces made it all worth while.
the first time i met fish and tommy was when i was performing in this band called the mood at this club called cafe einstein. they were heckling us hardcore- i told them to get up and play if they could do any better, really to just shut them the hell up, but to my suprise- they jumped right up on stage and did just that- they played the fishing song and the first line of the song was: bowl in my hand i'm headed for the river. ever since then they've been playing hardcore, punk rock, drunken, kickass music. i really think they would've played music together no matter if that incident happened or not. they swear to me that i was the one that got them to where they are today. it's really cool, they have a label checking them out right now and a write up in creamy fist magazine- who's mother wouldn't be proud of that?
if anyone that reads this entry knows of places to play for these guys- it would be a great time! check out their website LOAFASS
i hope everyone had a relaxing holiday weekend...
oh, and if you want to know how they got the name loafass....
