meanwhile:
yay exercise! am pretty much well again, even if still tired and stressed, and finally got back out to mem gym tonight. yay also for not exercising sick - i think it was a wise choice. but o it was good to be back again - felt like i sweat out a little of this month long evil.
and i'm not nearly as weak as i'd thought i'd be. running endurance is back to suck (though my new and improved ambling rate remains intact! since i started running regularly i found that my rate-of-comfortable-ambling-without-getting-tired rose all the way up to 4 mph, sometimes even 4.2. *yeah* long legs.) arm muscle endurance is also down, though i also took it pretty easy & careful today. am still close (not quite tantalizingly, but close nonetheless
) to the mythic pull-up. and strangely enough, i didn't gain any weight during my entire month long, sick, stressed, in the midst-of-finals-and-without-appetite-but-eating-constantly-o-please-o-please-to-keep-myself-awake hiatus. i hope that doesn't mean i have to eat even more than i'm eating now if i'm going to keep from withering away when i start exercising again? because dammit, i'm poor.

incidentally, this week has been beautiful because programming training includes free snacks! even though i've had to get up at 7:30 every morning (thank you fatespawn!), i've still had breakfast every day. bagels with real butter! muffins! apples upon apples, and wee little slices of ham and cheese, and strawberries, and mint juliep tea (which i begin to suspect contains caffeine, but by god i don't care! i tried it and glory of glories, my eyes stopped unfocusing. so fantastic!) and chocolate chip cookies, and macademia nut cookies, and little slices of pumpkin bread, and carrot cake cupcakes. tomorrow is the last day, and o i shall be so sad to see the little catered snacks go...
they even put peppermint patties on our keyboards waiting for us when we come back from lunch. i cannot even express my joy at this in my common vocabulary. fuckin-A.

speaking of which, the people at marco and luca's rock. they are the dumpling and cold noodles place on the downtown mall, and when i ordered a thing of dumplings yesterday and then realized my wallet was empty
and told the cashier nevermind, she gave the dumplings to me anyway and said to just come by and pay them back tomorrow. that was really, really nice of her.
but yes. the only other thing i can think of is that i was more sick and stressed than i knew and would have lost weight like a lab rat if i hadn't been doing as i did. not good. i'm really glad it's ending.
man, i'm gonna miss the free food of finals week and the catered food of training both. i look into my future and see vast quantities of ramen and dry cereal. but bodo's bagels shall be my shining star, and when my first paycheck from darden finally comes, what a relief it shall be.
