geh, wish i had more time to update lately.
have become decidedly nocturnal. i am really to roll right now - i could head back to the gym and bounce about for a good long while, but no, i shall have to tuck in and attempt to fall asleep in mere minutes. gack!
my laundry is languishing in a dryer somewhere downstairs, where it has sat since yesterday afternoon. perhaps somebody's even taken it out by now and it's congealing into wrinkles out on some counter. eh. i guess i should run it through the dryer again sometime tomorrow, if i can get around to it... awfulness.
fatespawn got metal gear solid 2: sons of liberty! is a great happiness, although snake's face looks horrid. the blurred darkness of his face in the last version was far more appealing. but we had a firefight with olga yesterday, and that was fun. olga's pretty and doesn't shave her armpits - i found it an interesting attention to detail that they'd purposely render her with underarm hair. is fun to hear the voice acting again, and though mei ling's gone otacon attempts to dispense wisdom in her place when you save... is amusing.
today got to sketch fatespawn sitting on a stool from three different angles... i was rather pleased with the results. his hair was a lot of fun to draw.
heh, speaking of which, some brownies sent out an email talking about who they'd cast in a brown version of the rocky horror picture show, and they decided that stephen would be their rocky - i quote, "While he's not your typical pretty-boy, there is an unbridled libido hidden behind {fatespawn'}s kind and enthusiastic exterior. Plus, we would really like to see him in a gold speedo (hottt!)." lol! neither he nor i have ever seen rocky, so now we *really* have to.
also had to do lighting observation exercises for my lighting design class - went to the big, skylighted (skylit?) and windowed entry hall of the aquatic and fitness center, where i was supposed to jot notes about how people interacted with light. ended up kind of having to make stuff up, as people's interactions with light were hardly pronounced. most notably i claimed that the janitor was using the reflections of light off the floor to determine whether he'd missed any spots as he went about his mopping, and that later, after it'd grown darker outside, that exercisers were checking themselves out in the reflections of the glass doorways and walls as they exit. i feel both clever and mildly annoyed to know that these responses will probably please my instructors greatly. but hey, they're plausible and who knows - they might be true.
worked out while i was there, too. *growl* it feels good.
i didn't call home this weekend. must remedy this tomorrow if possible - is of a higher priority than the congealing laundry. and must remember to call home again on the 24th, the day before my mom's birthday, to ish her happy birthday and so that she knows i remembered. is actually such that i'll feel relieved after i do it and don't have to think about it anymore.
i still have a lemon on my desk from the last parental visit... i thought it would be fun and mighty satisfying to take it and make lemonade for myself, but it's beginning to get a bit old now. i've just got to remember to grab some of those beautiful natural sugar packets from the cafe in alderman sometime soon, and then i can at least give it a shot before this thing molders here.
i've found my fingerless gloves again. and i've begun wearing my hair down a lot more. and i can run fast, and lift heavy things. my room is still a mess. the other day i had that song from newsies stuck in my head again... "you win some you lose some my dear!"
actually, lately there has been a renaissance of show tunes from all manner of plays, drifting through my mind. recent favorites: man of la mancha, and various songs (especially "javert's theme", "one day more" and, oddly, "bring him home") from les mis. i take it as a good omen - my head has not been so full of song in some time.
