Alrighty.. now that I have a big cup of coffee in my hand *takes a drink* let me see if I can crank this out.
First of all, a big "hello" to you all. I can't believe its been about two months since I left. Time has really flown there. Here's a brief wrap up of whats been going on with me. I left on the 1st of November for basic. At the time I thought that I would be going to Ft. Jackson, South Carolina. I find out on the day that I ship that Jackson overbooked 20,000 troops and I will be going to Ft. Knox, KY. Ugh.
The first 48 hours was the worst since we didn't get to sleep. Reception lasted three days and then we were technically ushered into the first phase of basic training on the 8th of November. In the time that I've been there I've lost ten pounds which is kick ass. I can run a 2mile in about 14:45 which is about a minute and twenty seconds faster than when I got there. People think that its a very physically intensive experience but to be honest the mental part is what is really tough. They set things up to be impossible but when you get the teaching and tools to complete your mission, you feel like a god when you accomplish it. It's incredibly uplifting at the end of the day.
I've talked about this, God knows, how many times since I've been home the last five days, but if anyone has anything specific they want to ask, by all means ask away. Just know that I'm doing fine and in another 3 1/2 weeks I'll graduate I will try to get some photos up here of my shaved hair and what not while I'm home.
How is everyone else doing?
