Update: went to the ER tonight, spent 3 hours waiting to be seen, and another being examined (and waiting some more). Diagnosis: fractured radial head in my right arm.
I have a huge cast on my arm at the moment, and going to see orthopedist on Mon. Right now, the ER doc says I could be wearing cast for up to 6 wks. Will try to talk orthopedist into letting me wear one of those removable casts, so I can at least scratch my fucking arm. Typing with one hand, and my left at that. Will be doing lots of things w/ left hand for a while. Yes, even that. New challenges lay ahead: brushing teeth, taking showers, urinating unassisted, (for that matter dropping trou unassisted), eating non-finger foods, not losing my typing-intensive job.
Lesson learned: watch where you're walking at all times. 50 or so homeless people and a few bus riders got the chuckle of their lives watching me fall gracefully to the pavement Friday.
I love you all. Will try to keep posting. Thanks for your well wishes.
