So now that Eason Jordan has resigned, I'm sure you'll be moving on to address the "Jeff Gannon" scandal, right? Since, after all, you haven't said a word about it here, even though it's a much bigger story.
Frankly, I never expected to get a response, partly because I figured that my email would be lost in an avalanche of others, and partly because I figured that Instapud would simply ignore it, especially given its brevity. But, much to my surprise, I did get a response, albeit not much of one:

Bigger story? It's a Saturday Night Live skit.

Uh, yeah, Glenn.
So anyway, I decided to take the dialogue a little further and see if he bites:
Saturday Night Live skit? LOL You dont think its noteworthy that a man with an assumed name, no professional experience as a journalist, and no educational background in the field except for a 2-day indoctrination seminar at a right-wing journalism institute, gets a seat at White House press briefings and presidential press conferences? That he gets routinely called on over, for example, Helen Thomas, a widely respected member of the White House press corps with decades of experience so he can bail out McClellan and Bush when the going gets rough, instead of asking them legitimate questions like a real journalist would? Its not significant to you that Talon News, a right-wing propaganda outlet with ties to a blatantly partisan political organization, is able to get a reporter credentialed by the White House two days after its web site went live? And it doesnt disturb you that, especially within the context of heightened national security and the war against terrorism, a male escort was somehow able to get past whatever vetting process the White House press corps has (one would hope) for its reporters?
While I agree that the claims about Guckert having sole access to the CIA memo were a reach in the absence of compelling evidence, the fact remains that he did apparently have access to this memo and that he has been subpoenaed in conjunction with the grand jury investigation. To blame his subpoena on some sort of vindictiveness because of things that he said about the investigation is disingenuous, and to simply take his word about not receiving the memo from an administration source when hes been as thoroughly discredited as he has is absurd.
At best, a phony right-wing news organization with ties to the presidents party has been appropriating official press functions for propaganda purposes, and may have been enabled in doing so by members of the administration. At worst, a reporter affiliated with this organization may have played a role in outing an undercover CIA operative. Sorry, but thats much bigger than the Eason Jordan witch hunt, and for you to casually dismiss this story is hypocritical and exposes you as a partisan shill.
Hey, whatever else comes of this, I now have Instapud's email address. Surely some fun can be had with that. My next goal is to get Wonkette's phone number.

UPDATE (12/17/05): Haven't heard back from Instapud yet. I imagine I probably won't. Still working on Wonkette's digits.
Sucks.. but that's life.
