Well, it's been two months, so I guess I better update this thing... I have been up to my armpits at work in Patriot Act paperwork these days, putting in about 60 hours a week on average for a while now. 10 hours a day, 6 days a week. Ugh. It's exhausting, but the pay is welcome. What's amazing to me is that if we...

I think, even dead, Zappa would be a better leader than we're used to.

Went to Shreveport this weekend with my brother. Gambled. Lost about $400. Cried. I left Shreveport smelling like cigarette smoke and desperation. Oh well, at least I got to hang out with my brother for a while, so something good came out of it. After not speaking to each other for about a decade or so, it's cool that we're starting to get close again....

"Cigarette smoke and desperation", reminds me of every trip I ever took to Vegas. Munich is on my list for next week, then again, it was on my list for last week. Working in the same industry as you, (I'd say who, but they'd probably fire me for an ethics violation just for mentioning them here) I also have a three day weekend.. Hooray for days that the market is closed. I'll be flipping channels hoping someone is carrying Al Gore's speech.

Good grief; I'm sorry to hear that. I hope your niece gets well, and soon.
Edit: I made a stupid joke about meth labs on the CE boards, before I read your journal. Just so you know that I'm not a spectacularly callous jerk if you run across the comment. (I'm really only a slightly dim, run-of-the-mill jerk.) And I do sincerely hope your niece gets better.

I did hear about those grassfires! Some pretty big ones going on down here!
Seriously, I don't understand how people can get so angry at eachother that they resort to violence leading to death. If you're THAT pissed at someone, don't you think you'd move away or avoid that person?
