Stuff and people really kick ass. I know that's pretty vague and all-encompassing, but it's meant to be. I've recently come to realize that despite being good at learning, I'm a piss-poor student, and because right now being a student, manual laborer, or service industry worker (burger-flipper) are the only things I'm qualified to do... that's a big deal.
Still, things pop up that remind me how great life is. You don't have to be good at anything to just sit in an acoustically perfect dorm lobby with a bowl of espresso chip ice cream, listening to someone play a grand piano and watching a sunset. That's beauty right there.
You don't have to have a bus-load of friends around you at all times to feel really, truly good about yourself when someone you've barely met tells you "you have a fascinating mind. You should have dinner with my wife and I some time."
This is the good stuff, the useful thing I learned in 14 years of school: It doesn't matter where you go, what you do, or what plans you make. Just so long as you're thinking clearly and you're out there doing something, anywhere, with anybody, good things will happen to you.
On that note, happy Thursday! Peace.

Did we talk about how we both do better in small groups or in one on one conversation, while a bunch of other people milled all around us in the kitchen?

testify! that is why i go to school for what i do. its what i love, man. i figure if i am gonna have a job, it might as well be for something i love. how do i describe that? something that i would do for free if given the opportunity. the bands i am gonna be touring with arent going to be paying me shit, because they dont have shit to pay me. as long as they feed me every now and then i will be good.
