I randomly wrote this last night:
Diner, diner, shining bright
In the middle of the night
What famished mouth or eye
Could forgo thy delightful cookery
I bet William Blake wishes he had a diner to write about.
Friday I spent at work, of course. My boss seems to like my plans for writing a parser to compliment the lexer recently proposed in PEAR. I doubt I'll get to make the fancy visualization parts right now (see this entry), but I'm happy that I have approval to act on a good idea.
I've also been rambling a lot on the Friendly P2P mailing list.
Friday night was spent chatting with <lj user="igrokme] at Plato's diner. The conversation was good and geeky, as usual. Unfortunately, they carded me at Town Hall (the local bar) and apparently don't allow people under 21. I still haven't found a sign stating this, but I understand their concerns. It doesn't make it any less annoying. Oh well. I suppose we'll just meet at Plato's in the future, or something.
I spent most of yesterday sleeping which was good. Today I'm going to finish my first project for OS. It's hello world from an operating system :p It's disappointingly simple because most of the work is done by GeekOS.
Actually, I'm not as disappointed as usual because I have other things to work on. I'm almost done adding POST method support to PEAR Pager. I just need to make sure the Javascript magic works properly.
I had planned to take photos of Zui yesterday. She was begging for someone to take photos of her for a t-shirt company in the SGDC group So, I volunteered myself and Kira, mostly because she'd definitely be interested. Unfortunately Kira's been sick and feeling like poo, gah. So I suggested a spot in Georgetown to meet at, but never got a response and assumed she'd forgotten or something. She e-mailed me Saturday morning and it turns out the t-shirts haven't arrived yet. I'm actually happy because this means I can use my new camera.
She also called me at midnight. I left a voice message on her cell Thursday night and a "callback number." Apparently the latter option just text messages the person the number without any context. Neither of us was sure who the other was for the first minute or so and we were trying to determine who the other was ... After that things were ok. She told me the name of the company selling the t-shirts, but I promptly forgot it.
I've been avoiding mentioning this because it seems weird and I never did come up with a way to introduce it in a natural-ish way. I'm just being anxious and junk.
