Sooo...this whole making friends in a new town doesn't seem to be as easy as I thought. I guess I'm just not sure how to do it anymore.
I've been going to events where like minded people *should* be, and I've gotten over my shyness and made the first move of talking to people I thought looked interesting. Maybe it's the infrequency of the events, or maybe it's the curse of looking like a stuck-up bitch, despite being a moderately nice person. Who knows.
I just went out on a limb,,. a brave one, and directly asked some of the people I've met to shoot me a message if they are going out and wouldn't mind company. We'll see the response.
I hope I not too revolting or weird that I scare people off!

Well, if you don't mind making friends with an aging (wink) artist and long-time SG member, give me a shout. I'd love to get to know someone local. I don't think you look like a stuck-up bitch.
