As the moon rises in the sky,
There are women
that make their hair grow
and wander the deserted streets
to meow on the shore of the sea,
Mingling with the shadows.
There are other women
that grow feathers,
in order to fly
on the roofs of houses
and watch the sea at night.
Each of them
fills the nostrils
of the perfume of Alicudi,
before traveling
across the sea
towards the starry sky of Palermo.
