LA was super fun - I hadn't been back since I was a wee lad so it was cool to properly check the city out. The hostel I stayed in was right in Hollywood so it was easy to check things out. I saw the Quicksand reunion show, which was fucking fantastic, with a good friend from home and some new ones (Larry from Pelican and Kim from Sparkmarker). The Kubrick exhibit at the LACMA was fantastic as well. I also drank a lot of extremely good beer (Pliny the Elder twice, oh yeah) and had fun exploring, eating awesome food and going on extremely long walks.
Oh, and I hung out with the ever rad and very lovely Chloe who was kind enough to provide me with a place to crash the last night, among supplying wonderful company, whiskey and campy movies.
Here's a bunch of photos from LA:
The new Dead Again album "Occultus Lake", in which I do vocals and artwork, has been receiving really good press thus far which is nice. We got a write up in the Georgia Straight, which the Vancouver media paper. You can check out the album here: http://deadagain.bandcamp.com
I recently moved into a new place as well, which I'm really stoked about since the old place had a really awkward layout. Plus, the new place is really swank.
Pimp kitchen, which makes me quite. happy.
New couch.
Heated floors in the bathroom. If my cat previously had a god, it's been replaced by this.
New art for the walls.
Other than that, I'm just trying to get various projects going and/or finished and being more productive with my life in general, which includes trying to shoot more in the future. I've also got another session on my back with Ryan Mason at Scapegoat Tattoo in Portland on Friday so I'll post pictures of that in a week or so.
Here's some random photos to end this post, mostly of my animals......
Pug cuddles.
Looking handsome.
Ambrose in the sun.
Winston.
An old project from photo school I found while moving,
zzzzzzz.
Congratulations on your band success, and the best wishes to you on the new home
