I had to go into my previous place of employment for a surprise retirement party for a coworker. I worked for one of the biggest airlines in the US.
I worked in the airline industry for over a decade, doing multiple things (flight attendant, ramp agent, operations, customer service supervisor....) and my heart will forever be in the industry
I get so emotional every time I go! Especially now, during this pandemic. It really crushed the industry that I love so much, and it has severely impacted so many people I love - my own mom included as she works for an airline herself.
To me, it’s a reminder that nothing is permanent and to not take anything or anyone for granted. I’m really glad I had the time of my life in that amazing industry and with its perks, but now it is definitely time to stay on my current path.
Life has a funny sense of humor, and I hope to understand it one day.
