They give you a white shirt with long sleeves
Tied around you're back, you're treated like thieves
Drug you up because they're lazy
It's too much work to help a crazy
I'm not crazy - institutionalized
You're the one who's crazy - institutionalized
You're driving me crazy - institutionalized
They stuck me in an institution
Said it was the only solution
To give me the needed professional help
To protect me from the enemy, myself

As a child I looked up to the sky
And could not understand why
Armstrong set Foot on a crippled moon.
Each day was fresh, but forgotten all too soon.
All the world was in the neighborhood
And I explored it as much as I could.
Than I sampled other worlds
I lived in what I could see
I traveled to distant Lands and worlds.
Lived through my TV set.
Took, what I could get.
But the real world has never been painted on a screen.
It can be both, boring and mean.
I learned to prefer clean constructed fantasies
To living dirty grown realities
Now all my world is within the space,
that is measured by my apartment's walls
and a machine is answering my calls.
My friends are on cable, DVD or on video tape
And the telephone offers countless women, with whom to mate
If I can not sleep my computer gives me games to play.
I love a girl, that lives really far away.
Where we met?
It was in the net.
I am happy so far,
I have net access,
so I do not need a car.
The computer gives to me
A worldwide shopping mall.
Islands in the net,
that is what we are all.
And the rest of the race of Man
Is brought to me by CNN
As real live feed,
whenever I need.
But news just makes me sad.
The world can not be that bad.
I do not want to know
And rather switch
to a funny late night show
The delivery man
Brings what ever I want to eat.
I pass the money under the door
So we do not have to meet.
Next thing to come
Will really set me free.
This thing to come is Virtual Reality.
