ok, i'm obsessed with class struggle these days. and class identification in culture. why did i never really pay attention to that now? how i dress, what vernacular i use, all becomes some sort of code for what economic bracket i'm supposed to be in and who is ok and who is not ok to associate with. i'm sure this is all nothing new, but wasn't the notion of class more prominent a hundred years ago, more explicit? i don't think it's any less now, just i never hear the term really. or is some other term the equivalent now?

Yes it was hella explicit way back in the day. Now not so much, for many reasons, some of course obvious. But why dwell on it
