Hey everyone,
Just a super quick blog, something I need to get off my chest. Please go take a look at this non-for-profit organization in South California. Its called the Grace Foundation and it was set up by a lovely lady who rescues animals, big and small, from the pounds on death row, and gives them the veterinary care and rehabilitation they need and either loves them on her ranch forever or finds them good, loving home. Recently, she rescued 48 horses, all horribly abused and neglected, 22 of which were pregnant, from some sick cunt. She now, on top of her other rescue animals, has 70 horses, costing her over $50,000 a month. Not only this, she trains the animals as therapy horses, and offers their services to children and young adults with conditions such as Down's Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy.
The problem is (from my VERY limited legal understanding), she's been royally fucked by the Bank of America and some other douchebags, and the banks are trying to bribe her into signing papers relinquishing them of all responsibility. However, she took the horses upon the bank's instruction, before the courts had given permission, and now they're trying to lie their way out of it, leaving the organization on the brink of bankruptcy and potentially having to give these horses back to the man that abused them.
I think this is disgusting, and this type of thing breaks my heart. One of my life dreams is to create a safe haven for animals in need, the ones shelters are going to destroy because they're too much work/too small/too young/too needy. And I know for a fact that if this kinda thing happened to me I'd rely on the kindness of strangers for support. I'm not asking anyone to donate, I'm not that kind of person and it's not my place, but I know just a dollar would make a difference, and maybe you might consider it.
