well, this is it. the first journal entry. let's see how often i update this. with school in full swing, as it were, updates may tend to follow this rubric: they'll decrease in frequency and increase in animosity towards the system of LVC...arg. to be sure, it is my last year there and the prospects of graduating this spring are overshadowed by my lack of career path but i hate the place. nothing but fake people living out lives of banal conformity and boredom. isn't college about shaping and developing opinions and insight to differentiate one from the common society (and no, i'm not an elitest nor have i any intentions on becoming a class warrior...i work part time at wal-mart for god's sake) where ideas and opinions always seem to gravitate toward the ultimate goal of preservation and maintenance of status quo? it would seem so at a lot of universities. but not here in annville. practically everyone is a conservative offshoot of some rich family somewhere, half of whom are planning on entering the workforce as educators. suffice to say that i feel sorry for the future generations of kids who will have to be subjected to them.
anyway, i'm going home to reading this weekend to see out to win and burnt by the sun...anyone in the area should check out the show at wooden waves skatepark. it's going to thrash. in that good way that we all know and long for.
hopefully i'm not just screaming into the wind here. let me know what you think. isn't college supposed to be about defining oneself as an individual. how can this conformity and blase attitute not injure that cause?
