Today was pretty cool. I was running the fly tower at Theatre Calgary. It's a 70 foot tall structure that's used to fly in stage scenery. To my knowledge there's only 3 or 4 of these devices in the city and this on is one of the largest! It has 35 linesets held in near balance with counter weight. A moment's carelessness could spell disaster. I was the only Stage Carpenter there today setting up "A Christmas Carol", who was familiar with the system.
It kinda looks like this, but not exactly this is a small one.
