Let me just say that I hate the Local New and the fear mongering they do surrounding the weather. Those fuckers need their eyes gouged out.
One minute its 3-5 inches starting at midnight, and then its 6-9 inches starting at 1 am. I get up and look outside at 5:30 and it's dry as a bone outside. Then when I get up at 9:30 it says that there will be 6-9inches today and 3-5 inches tonight, meaning the total snow fall for the day should be in between 9 and 14 inches. The sad part is that I don't even watch the News, since Im always on the Internet i get my news from there, but I was talking to my mom last night and she was watching QVC (as always) and they said that the area (for those who don't know QVC is located in Davidsonville, MD right outside of Crofton, MD) due for a BIG snow storm. Stupid me I should have asked what they were selling at the time, most likely it was some sort of bionic shovel that heats up and comes with its own salt dispenser. I should have known something was wrong when i read the weather because there is no way in hell, we could get that much snow if THEY forecasted it. Case and point, In February 2003 we got a shit load of snow; those fuckers said 3-5 inches. When I wake up at 7 it's like 5-6 already on the ground. It ended up snowing all fucking day, and into the next day still about 3:15 pm. At which time my boyfriend and I started taking pictures.
After it was all said and done, a pic of the Deck:
Here is a pic of my boyfriend standing next to the sliding glass door. You can see just how high it was:
Here is a pic of the top of his old riced out Nissan.
Here is a pic of my boyfriend digging us out. You can see my car in this pic but you can't see his cause he got it stuck on a hill trying to come back home after he couldn't make it on to I-95 to get to work, his car is Rear-Wheel Drive.
And here is a pic of what it looks like outside now. Remember now, this is a pic of the "Blizzard of 2005". Stay inside if you can, lock your doors and hide the good china, because this thing is "unstoppable".
As you can see, both of our cars are visible. Any accumulation that you see on the ground is because of the snow we had on Thursday of last week. The stuff on the cars is from today, but note, this snow started at 10:30am stopped at around 11:20-11:50 melted because it's about 35 degrees outside, and stared back up again at noon. All I can say is that THIS IS SOME BULLSHIT!
While we were out on Thursday we saw 2 people in a ditch, one facing the opposite side direction on the shoulder of 495- east bound, and one person spun out in front of us. People in this state are so fucking stupid. Every year I have lived in this state, which has been 23 years, it has snowed, more than once. It's not a fluke, its not a fucking noreaster (most of the time), and it's not "gods way of punishing the unsaved liberal heathens", it's called "Winter". It happens every year on the 21'st of December. It's not some fucking cosmic curse. People here act surprised when it starts to snow. Maybe because were not as far north as we like to believe we are. This is still the south. But that's for another day.
So please MD, in the words of my mom ACT like you got some sense.
