One of my fellow sci-fi authors (whom I introduced to D&D during the pandemic) invited me to start up a podcast where we do quick character creation on the spot, sort of a combination of D&D and a writing workshop as we brainstorm concepts and such. It's been a lot of fun to record and the first episode is available now:

Should've posted this yesterday for Krampusnacht, but my old superheroes vs. Krampus holiday horror comedy story is free over on Kindle today!

Happy to announce that we've finally released Doc Silence: The Cost of Magic, an urban fantasy story telling the origin of the mentor of the Indestructibles. This is the book I've always wanted to write. Myth, folklore, tragedy, and love.

So I wrote a thing and put it up on Medium. Saving Throws: How D&D saved my life during COVID. Realized some folks here might find it relatable. It's a hard time to be human, and a lot of us are finding shelter from the storm by playing pretend. Are you playing a lot of RPGs during the pandemic? Has it helped? Has it...

I know a few folks follow my books here so I figured I'd share this - the books are now available, signed/personalized, through my own website. I even have some first edition versions available in limited numbers! Didn't figure I'd ever do an online store since Amazon and other bookstores are so convenient, but just in case anyone was looking, wanted to make this...

"What do you do at 2 a.m. anyway?"
"Well, sometimes I sit here alone and get angry about how my brain has retained every single perceived mistake I've ever made, but forgotten every ounce of music theory I ever learned, so when I'm trying to identify something I know I used to understand about musical structure it's like I'm grasping at fireflies I can't catch."...

Just in time for the summer convention season, Book 5 of the Indestructibles series, "The Crimson Child," has officially launched! I'm really proud of this one. Took a while to get it ready with the process of changing publishers.

Well that was quick--approved the final version of Lost in Revery, collecting the first three Dungeons and Dragons homage novellas in print, and it's now available online. The three novellas have been in Kindle for a while now, but if you're more of a physical book reader, check it out! (I love this cover so much.)

Lots of talk about the endings of series, both with superheroes and sword & sorcery stories. Tired of talking about fan theories and deadly serious endings? My novella about young superheroes who get trapped in a cursed game of Dungeons & Dragons, Roll for Initiative, is free today on Kindle. Check it out on the house!

And if you like it, you can read...

It's been out for a few weeks, but I forgot to mention here--the sequel to "Echo and the Sea," "Poseidon's Scar," is now available in paperback and Kindle. This one was a ton of work but so much fun to write. Check it out if you like myths, Atlantis, Aquaman-ish adventures, pirates, or Amazons. Among other things.

... okay, so I blew out a softbox and probably gave myself lasting damage from the fumes, but I think I got a cyberpunk headshot out of this. Not bad for one light, a few gels, and a timer, right?
