So John McCain announced his running mate today. And by God/dess if I wasn't going to vote for him before, I sure as hell am not going to do it now. Sarah Palin, who I see as a vicious and horrible woman. Why you ask? She's the current head of state over in Alaska. A place that is suppose to be the last frontier, a place for nature and beauty.
But, as more days go on that is not the case. Actually it is not the case for most of the country. The Bush Administration has done more to hurt our enviroment then help. It has lifted protection on countless animals, namely the wolves of Yellowstone. The only real reason I can see behind it is they just simply do not care. They think its money wasted.
I urge anyone that reads this to Sign this. Let your voice be heard. Defenders is a very good organization who are desperately in need of all the help they can get.
This is one of many huge reasons I say no to John McCain. Am I saying that the Democrats will do better? I don't know. But I like to think that they would be willing to give two shits about our enviroment. I for, one, don't usually take too big of a stand on political issues, but this is our home, our eart we're talking about here. I for one don't want to live in a world with out the wolf, the grizzly, the polar bear. Lets not face a day where that might be a reality.

Because, Sarah Palin is very much a problem. She's spent $400,000 in state funds for her misinformed campaign against the wolf. Take that as you will.
The packs are doing fine for now. But how long will it be before that is not the case due to poor education and bad face time that the wolf gets? Free range on a so called monster. I doubt it will take much.
Aereal gunning is a vicious and inhumane "sport". Any one who would look at it and think that its okay, are not okay to me. End of story.

ok hey I was just wondering. Wolves have had a bad name for several thousand years and they are still here. Thanks in part to us, but still around none the less. Did you know that there has never been a documented case of a healthy wolf attacking a human. Ever.. That's pretty friggin amazing!
I think that aerial gunning is appalling too. But no matter how much we educate the public there will still be those assholes that go out and do it. They have been doing that for 100 years and the public has known about it the whole time and yet done nothing because of one simple notion, they think "it doesn't effect me, so why should I care". But that is the ignorance of most people. Not realizing that everything that happens on this earth effects everyone.
I'm glad that ther are groups that want to help I just wish more of them would come around to my way of thinking. Which is that hunting is neccessary! For population control that has gotten out of control due to mismanaged lands for far too long as well as for food. We humans keep expanding into the animals territory and don't understand when they retaliate because they are pushed into a corner. The natural response of humans is to kill them all. Stupid yes, but that is the nature of humans. We are our own worst enemy!
I agree that we need to help protect some of our wildlife. But so many of these groups do not believe in hunting. Hunting is a much needed form of population control. Notice that I said Hunting... NOT SPORT HUNTING to which I am very much opposed to. I hunt to put food on my table not a rack or head or hide on my wall/floor. I hunt for food just like our ancestors did. Also because so much of the food we buy in stores is so loaded with steroids and other crap I don't want to eat it.
Perhaps many states needs to adopt similar wildlife programs to Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia and Florida which all have excellent programs in place. All have room for improvement but most are better than many of the other states.
This has been a stimulating conversation...I Stand Corrected
