So this is who I was hanging out with last weekend.....
Went to Tiger Creek with the fam. Didn't stay too, too long because it was really hot when we got there and being so most of the kitties were asleep. With a big acception for one of the tigers named Accolon who jumped up on the side of the cage and gave a big roar. He's not a fan of crowds and it was a busy day. Plus he came from Neverland Ranch, so can you blame him for being a little on edge some times.
The very first living area had Lily and Sarge from one of my very favorite episodes of Animal Planet's Growing Up..... They are super huge now and so very beautiful.
This tiger's name is Puppy and he's anything but. He's super huge with extra big canine teeth. They said it was probably from a genetic disorder or inbreeding.
These two guys are Thai & Kiarra. They are a very rare coloration, even more so then the white tigers.
But the icing on the cake? As soon as we got there, we went to get something to drink from the soda machine. I right at a glass door marked staff only and what do I see looking at us?
This geogous baby. I just can't explain it really. When we finally went in to see her later, she was kinda sleeping and just so amazingly beautiful. I never wanted to leave.
Now when I was a little girl, only days before my grandpa died, there was a family reunion on my dad's side. I didn't go because my girl scout troop had a trip planned to the near by diamond mine. Well, my dad went and met this distant relative and invited them to come to our house.
I don't know who they are clearly, but my dad tells me to go around to the back door of their van. He says there's a little girl named Roni there. Now, I assumed it was a dog. But no, it was a six month old Bengal Tiger.
Looking back on it, I know now how bad it is for individuals to have tigers as pets. I constantly wonder what happened to her and hope that she's okay. Individuals usually don't give them the right diet or habitat and so on.
That being said, it was one of the coolest fucking things ever. I mean, how many people can say they got to pet and play with a baby (yeah, it took down my six foot four two hundred pound dad like nothing) tiger in their front yard. It was also one of the last moments I got to spend with my grandpa. He died suddenly from a heart attack two days later.
So yeah. It was a pretty big deal. My nephew Tyler loved it. He whole time he was going "rawr. Tiger,". I was super impressed that he didn't get scared when Accolon roared at us. This two year old just told this giant tiger "No, no" for jumping up (which he learned from us telling the dogs that). His take on the day?
So if you live in Tyler, TX or are close by, check out Tiger Creek. And even if you aren't, show some support for these guys. They are doing an awsome job, but are completely non-profit. So, show them some love and help fund them so they can build more habitats and take in more of these fantastic big cats.

We went ti Tiger Creek a few years ago, we went in April so all the kitties were up and about. They were so pretty, and one tiger was playing around in the swimming pool. Sad to know all those beautiful animals were mistreated in some way.
